Summary
Facial appearance is influenced by masseter muscle. In particular in Asians muscular hypertrophy can cause negative aspects of facial beauty perception. We report on the use of botulinum toxin injections into the masseter muscle to re-shape the face. We describe the technique and demonstrate a case series with favorable outcome.
Zusammenfassung
Der Massetermuskel beeinflusst die Gesichtsästhetik. Insbesondere bei Asiaten kann eine Masseterhypertrophie die Gesichtsästhetik negativ beeinflussen. Wir berichten über die Gesichtskontourierung mittels intramuskulärer Injektionen von Botulinumtoxin in diesen Muskel. Wir beschreiben die Technik und stellen eine Serie eigener Fälle mit deutlicher Verbesserung der Gesichtskontour vor.
