Niche-specific fat transfer in the face Abstract Adipocytes are organized in various niches with
different anatomical functions. The dermal white adipose tissue (d-WAT) is located at the transition between the ectodermal an mesodermal layers and has a distinct function for forming the relief of the surface contours. This fraction is easy to harvest and should be used for superficial augmentation. Subctaneous fat should be used for distinct facial anatomical sites. The fat grafts should be very small. The results with simple freshly harvested adipose tissue are effective; therefore, regenerative procedures are not necessary.
